Permissions are essential for managing who can do what on your Minecraft server. To help set up these permissions, we use the LuckPerms plugin. Below we explain how to use it.

## 1. Installing LuckPerms

- First, download the **LuckPerms** plugin from trusted sites such as [SpigotMC](https://luckperms.net/).
- Go to the **plugins** folder in your server directory and put the LuckPerms `.jar` file there.
- Restart the server so the plugin loads correctly.

## 2. Configuring LuckPerms

After installing it, you can start configuring permissions through the admin panel or directly with commands in the console.

- **Command to check a player's permissions:** `/lp user <player_name> permission info`

## 3. Adding permissions

/lp user <player_name> permission set <permission> true
```

## Frequently asked questions

**How do I become an administrator of my own server?**

From the panel console, with `op your_nick`. With LuckPerms installed, the recommended approach is to give the permissions to a group and add your user to that group.

**What's the difference between op and a LuckPerms group?**

`op` grants everything, with no fine-grained control. LuckPerms lets you grant specific commands, which is the right way for moderators and roles with limited powers.

**Do permissions disappear when I restart the server?**

No. LuckPerms saves everything to a file or database. If they're disappearing, the plugin can't save — the console shows the error.
