Minecraft Plan Recommender — RedHosting

Questionnaire that picks the right Minecraft plan based on server type, game version, number of players and number of plugins.

How it works

The tool asks five questions and returns the recommended plan out of the 12 available (4 GB to 64 GB, all on AMD Ryzen 9 9950X).

  1. What will run on the server? — Vanilla / simple survival; plugins (Paper, Spigot, Purpur); light mods (Pixelmon, Create); or heavy modpacks.
  2. Which Minecraft version? — modern version (1.18+) or old version (1.8 to 1.16).
  3. Average number of concurrent players? — from a group of friends to a community or network.
  4. What matters most to you? — saving money, balance or maximum performance.
  5. How many plugins will the server have? — a few (up to 15) or more.

Logic behind the recommendation

RAM usage grows with concurrent players, number of plugins and, above all, with mods and modpacks. Modern versions (1.18+) use more memory than old versions for the same number of players. Since CPU, storage and protection scale with RAM on every plan, choosing the memory defines the rest of the configuration.
